Are People Becoming Technological Zombies?

There are 5.11 billion unique mobile phone users worldwide in 2019, and 2.71 are them using a smartphone (Metev, 2021). 53.6% of the world's population uses social media, and the average daily usage is 2 hours and 25 minutes (Chaffy, 2021). The internet brings everything closer to us by the name of ease. We found everything on the internet and getting addicted to it. From the statistics, the question arises, is technology that good for us all the way? The main goal of our essay is to show how technology makes us fainted with its fascination day by day.

Technological involvement is getting more dangerous than drug addiction. It is widely believed that technology made lifestyle easy for us. Technological development is growing as fast as possible and people are getting involved with the latest technology day by day. There are tons of technological things we use for reliable life. People getting everything here. But Our all work getting dependent on the name of technology. We cannot even pass a single day without a smart device and internet. The addiction brings us to such a point that everyone puts their eyes on the internet anywhere, anytime with no bounds. People playing on phones, chatting with others over the phone instead of getting in touch with friends and family. We put our critical information on the internet without any hesitation, like our private data, property documents, etc. The most horrifying thing is, our information is not safe on the internet. Any of our private information can be leaked anytime. The most recent incident is, 533 million Facebook user's information like name, email, phone number are leaked (Holmes, 2021). Despite having this type of vulnerability, we are getting stuck there. Statista's global tech spending statistics show that the tech giant companies spent $3,360 billion for technological events and keep us on a stereotypical point for their benefit (Global technology market size 2014-2019 | Statista, 2021). So, we should think that how desperate we are trying to destroy our real social life by our very own creation.

In the conclusion, we can say the way we are heading is not right for us. We should use the internet for the right purpose, not for destroying ourselves. We should not zombify ourselves by keeping busy always with technology. The human being is the best creation of Almighty. We should have a dignified purpose in our life. Life should be enjoyed going beyond artificiality.
